Parent Teacher Interviews This Week!

This is a great opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, discuss your child’s individual needs, share any questions or concerns you may have, and get to know one another.

Don’t miss this opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with your child’s teacher!

Pine Hill and South Bay Schools will have a different schedule this week, Monday - Friday:

  • Pine Hill will release at 1:20 PM
  • South Bay will release at 1:30 PM

Attached is a copy of the bus schedule with adjusted times.  Bus Schedule

*Afterschool will continue to run as normal.

South Bay Lunch on the Quad

Lunch on the Quad at South Bay will be hosted once a trimester. The first South Bay Lunch on the Quad will be Thursday, Sept. 24th. Mark your calendars now, and watch for reminders in our newsletters!
 

Changes to the Pine Hill Lunch on the Lawn Schedule

We want to make it easier for as many families as possible to enjoy Lunch on the Lawn with their children!

To better coordinate with South Bay School—and especially to support families who have children at both schools—Pine Hill will now hold Lunch on the Lawn once each trimester instead of once a month.

Our next Pine Hill Lunch on the Lawn will be October 23rd.

We hope this schedule gives families with students at both Pine Hill and South Bay more opportunities to be part of these special days. We love having you on campus and look forward to seeing you in October! 
 

South Bay Book Fair!

Scholastic Fall Book Fair Coming in September to the South Bay Schools' Library
 
Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings to school the books kids want to read. It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. We always offer books on sale, too!
 
Book Fair Dates:   Monday, September 21 through Friday, September 25 

Shopping Hours:  Open during recesses and Lunch on the Quad

More than ever, we need to get students reading. Studies prove that children with more books at home have higher-level reading skills, and attain more years of education overall. 

Lastly, this is a great opportunity to be a Book Fair volunteer! When you give your time, it helps make our Fair an unforgettable reading experience where every purchase benefits our school directly. Please contact Allison Bronkall (707-443-4828 or abronkall@southbayusd.org) if you can help at the Fair during school recesses.

We look forward to having you participate in our Fair, and remember, creating an eWallet is an easy way for parents, friends and family to provide money for students to buy books!  More info on how to create an eWallet is on our website listed above.

Join the PTSA

We’d love to have you be part of our PTSA! When families are involved at school, students see that home and school are working together and that their education matters. It’s also a great way to meet other families, connect with staff, and have a voice in our school community.

Our PTSA supports so many of the extras that make school special—from family events and student celebrations to classroom extras, teacher appreciation, and fun activities for our kids.

PTSA meets on the second Tuesday of each month, and everyone is welcome! Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 13.

You don’t have to have a lot of extra time to participate. Every little bit of involvement helps! Come join us and be part of making our school a great place for our kids.
 

DON'T FORGET TO UPDATE YOUR STUDENT INFORMATION IN AERIES

If you haven't already we kindly ask all families to complete the Aeries Data Confirmation process as soon as possible. If you are coming across any issues with completing the data confirmation, don't hesitate to reach out to your school secretaries.

By completing Data Confirmation, you will:
  • Review and update emergency contacts and medical information
  • Confirm important school and district policies
  • Approve required forms, including technology use and media release
  • Ensure you receive the latest school updates and communications
The process is quick, secure, and can be done from any device:
  1. Go to https://southbayuesd.aeries.net/student/LoginParent.aspx
  2. Log in with your parent account.
  3. Click on Data Confirmation and follow the prompts.
  4. Be sure to complete the process for each of your children.
Completing this step not only helps us keep accurate records, but also makes sure your child has uninterrupted access to school resources, schedules, and communication.
 

School Board Meeting October 14th, 6:00 PM

Stay Informed & Get Involved!

South Bay Union School District Board Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month at 6:00 PM in Room 15 on the South Bay campus.

Families and community members are encouraged to attend!

Board meetings are a great way to stay informed about what is happening in our district, learn about upcoming plans and decisions, and be involved in the conversation.

Come listen, learn, and stay connected to what’s happening in South Bay!

If you need additional support to start your school year off right the FRC is here to help! call 707-445-5933, or stop by either campus.
The FRC is able to help with:
  • school supplies and clothing
  • Friday Food Bag slots are currently open
  • Diapers sizes 1-5 are available
  • Preschool playgroup starting soon

South Bay Union School District is proud to offer breakfast, recess snacks and lunch for free for all students at Pine Hill and South Bay schools! Breakfast is provided before school in both cafeterias, snacks offered at recess and lunch during scheduled lunch times. Please be sure to check the menu to know what will be served during the week.
